January 2026 - The New Year! (with a Bang)

Welcome to 2026!

Softball WA would like to warmly welcome our entire softball community to the New Year. With an action-packed January ahead, 2026 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for players, officials, volunteers, and supporters across the state.


🥉 U23 Women Shine on the National Stage

Congratulations to our U23 Women’s State Team, who finished 3rd overall at their recent national campaign. Adding to the success, three athletes were recognised with All-Tournament Team selections:

  • Ashlyn Hayes – Catcher

  • Lauren Brown – Centre Field

  • Jade Calverley – Designated Player

An outstanding achievement for the team and individuals alike.


🔥 Flames & U14 Girls Hit the Field

The Flames Open Women’s and U14 Girls Regional Teams begin their tournaments tomorrow, 6 January, at Waverley (Vic). Best of luck to all players and staff as competition gets underway.


🏆 U16 State Nationals in WA

From 13–18 January, Softball WA is proud to host the U16 Girls and Boys State National Championships at the Mirrabooka Softball Complex.
As always, volunteers are still needed—your support is vital in delivering another successful national event (apply here)


✈️ U18 State Teams Head to NSW

Following the U16 National Championships, our U18 Men’s and Women’s State Teams will travel to Blacktown (NSW), to compete from the 20th–25th January. We wish them the very best as they represent Western Australia.


🥎 More Championship Action at Mirrabooka

Rounding out the month, the Open Men’s and U14 Boys State Championships will be held at Mirrabooka from 30th–31st January, closing out a huge month of softball.


⭐ An Amazingly Busy January!

With state teams, national championships, and multiple tournaments across Australia, January 2026 is packed with softball action. Thank you to all athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and supporters who make it possible.

Here’s to a fantastic start to the year here at Softball WA!

As always, it takes a tribe to keep things running smoothly and as we begin the new 2026 year, it's a great opportunity to remember those who serve our community who keep the cogs well oiled.
