Our 2026 U14 Boys National Champions!
Published Thu 12 Mar 2026
From March 3rd-8th 2026, at Hawker International Softball Center (ACT), our U14 Boys squad headed to the 2025/26 U14 Boys National Championships for their shot at the National Champion title.
Having finished equal points with 1st place and a win record of 6-1, WA finished the Round Robins 2nd by only 3 Runs Against difference with QLD Storm (1st). Then comes the Semi-Finals (NSW Sky) and Preliminary Finals (ACT), where the WA Futures made it into the Grand Final against NSW Sky, once again, in a nail-biting but consistent game. Then, on the 8th March 2026, our U14 Boys WA Futures team won the National Championship Title for the first time in our program history! With a tight 3-1 score against the opponent, Dale Kaimoana and his team left the tournament with medallions adorning their neck and the Shield to show off back in WA.
The boys played an amazing tournament and with how they came smashing out of the park Day 1, it was by no luck that they made it and won the Grand Final! And here are just some fun estimated stats to see just how great the WA Futures did last week:
👟 72 Total Runs | 33 RBIs | 24 Runs on Wild Pitches/Pass Balls | 15 Runs on Defensive Errors
This means that ~62% of all runs scored were off of wild pitches, errors, and pressure plays - that's what I call aggressive!
🥎 40 IP | 41 K | 17 Runs Allowed
Pitcher-standout Dean Garland had ~19 IP, 22 K, and allowed ~5 Runs over the week. Brody Perkins wasn't too far behind with 10 IP, 9 K, and 6 Runs allowed.
👏 58 Groundouts | 12 Force/Tag Plays | 9 Infield Popups | 27 Fly Balls | 6 Line Drives Caught | 4 Outfield Assists
More than 60% of all outs were ground ball outs, meaning that not only did we maintain control over the infield but also our pitchers kept pitching their spots, hitting low and preventing hard-hit balls!
Overall, huge congratulations to our 2026 U14 Boys National Champions - the WA Futures! Great job to all of those who support the boys along their journey, including Dale and his staff, parents/guardians, and supporters who helped sponsor these memorable moments 🖤💛
"It was a fantastic week and a great reward for the work the boys put in during the lead up. Our focus was on building a strong team culture and making sure everyone understood their role.
Throughout the tournament the boys were very consisent, supported each other, and kept improving each game. I'm really proud of the way they represented WA and the way they played for each other all week."
